Emotional Regulation Therapy

Emotional regulation refers to all of the factors that people use to influence how intense their emotions are, how long they last, and how they express themselves. The ability to calm oneself after experiencing intense emotions is a critical aspect of emotional regulation. Individuals who have difficulty regulating their emotions are extremely sensitive to emotional triggers in their environment and have difficulty returning to their baseline emotional state.
